Cottoneyed Joe’s Snowcone Stand was my first job. Before I turned 16, I had done some babysitting for my parents’ friends, but as soon as I turned 16, I was ready to go out and get a job. I had applied a few places, but I wasn’t that interested in them. One of my friends was a manager at Cottoneyed Joe’s, and she had let me know they had some spots open. Working here was a lot of fun, and I learned a lot.

Lawson Court Apartments at the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma is the first place I lived on my own. After I graduated high school, I went on to attend the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma. USAO did offer traditional dorms, however, I thought Lawson Court would suit me better. Here you have your own bedroom and only share a bathroom with one other roommate. These apartments also have a kitchen and living room that is shared among four people. I enjoyed my time here, and I made a lot of memories. I really liked the feeling of being on my own and having my own space.

Festivities Event Center in El Reno used to be a post office. We had attended a wedding here a couple years prior to when we began to plan our own wedding, and we thought it was beautiful. When we began searching for a place to have our wedding, I had gone through many different venues throughout the Oklahoma City metro area, and I could not seem to find a place that would be the perfect fit. Then, I stumbled upon Festivities Event Center and remembered going to a wedding there and how beautiful it was. We went to take a tour with my parents to get more information and look around the inside, and we all knew it would be perfect. This place holds many beautiful memories from our wedding day and will always have a special place in my heart.

This is the house that I grew up in. My family moved into this house the summer before I started second grade. It may not be a very large home, but it is filled with many memories. My family has celebrated many holidays, birthdays, and other occasions here, but we have also spent many hours just spending time together or watching movies. Now that my brother and I have both moved out, this house is a place for the family to gather on the weekends and share a meal or watch a football game.
